Gateway Arts Center @ Brentwood

The Gateway Arts Center at Brentwood (GAC@B) is a multi-faceted facility dedicated to the production, exhibition and programming of visual art. The GAC@B serves as a dynamic resource for artists and a vibrant, creative social experience reflecting and engaging a diverse community.

The GAC@B is a new project of the Gateway CDC located in the Gateway Arts District. A refurbished 15,000 sq ft warehouse, the Gateway Arts Center houses 3 galleries and affordable studio space for working artists.

The Galleries:

Gateway CDC manages the 39th Street Gallery and Project Space on the second floor of its Gateway Arts Center. The gallery focuses on revolving exhibits of contemporary art.

The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC) is the anchor tenant on the first floor at the Gateway Arts Center with 3,600 sq ft of gallery, office and classroom space called “Brentwood Arts Exchange.” MNCPPC shows a variety of fine art and craft in their gallery space.

The Prince George's African American Museum and Cultural Center is also located on the first floor of the Gateway Arts Center and plans to remain until their permanent facility is completed in North Brentwood. PGAAMCC shows fine art and craft created by African American artists in the county.
