The Foundation: Bodice Block Workshop

Every garment begins with a strong foundation.

Join fashion designer Maya B Atelier for a hands on workshop where you'll learn to draft your own reusable bodice block the essential pattern used to create dresses, jackets, corsets, tops, and more.

Whether you're just getting started or looking to strengthen your design skills, this workshop offers practical instruction in a supportive creative environment.

2026 Open Studios Tour

Step into the world of Visual & Audio Storyteller Antonio Hernandez @electricllama, featured at the Gateway Media Arts Lab this Saturday, May 9th, 2026 from 12 pm - 5 pm.

He will be showcasing his documentary Indelible @indelibelife, a black-and-white series exploring a “Marvel Universe” of D.C. musicians, featuring artists like Odd Mojo and Black Folks Don’t Swim? and highlighting the connections shaping the region’s sound.

The Lab offers flexible coworking space for artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives working in media and the arts.

  • Networking within the Gateway creative ecosystem

GALLERY & EXHIBITION RENTAL

The Media Arts Lab includes gallery and exhibition space available for curated shows, installations, screenings, and community events.

  • Film screenings

  • Pop-up shows and activations

  • Community and cultural programming

INTERNSHIPS & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
